Classic style in the Eastern Cape

Enjoy a step back in time and experience the long forgotten luxury of the 19th century, which for lovers of history will bring the experience of some of the earliest settlers in the Eastern Cape back to life. Cumberland House is one of the oldest buildings in Port Alfred, built in around 1832, and has recently been completely refurbished to bring it into the 21st century. Owned as a family home for many years, the property is now a guest house which is home from home for travellers from around the world. With spectacular views over the Indian Ocean and the River Kowie, Cumberland House has one of the finest locations in the town of Port Alfred.
